Description

A case study on how the U.S. military approach to strategic planning (war plan development) is evolving to become more responsive and integrated. The session will describe the efforts of worldwide planning teams representing the military services (e.g., Army, Air Force, etc.) and highest level commands around the globe focused on gap identification in planning, competing demands for resources, and the dynamic nature of defense on a global scale. The session will discuss a new framework to developing strategic defense plans, and will also discuss the technological keys the U.S. military must embrace to unlock the future of strategic planning. In essence, the U.S. military is changing its approachby incorporating new technology and tools to better prepare for the future. Teaser: “Our case study begins a few years ago with a detailed examination of how we develop war plans in the U.S. military. Through that process we discovered key gaps in our approach that masked risk, and created the potential for unexecutable plans that would only become apparent at the time of crisis. Through an exhaustive effort we developed a new strategic framework to guide planning and ensure feasibility. Today, we stand at the precipice of a transformative era in military strategy, where the keys to success lie in the adept embrace of cutting-edge technology. Imagine a future where our decisions are not just informed but empowered by real-time data, where precision analytics reshape the way we plan and execute operations.”
