As the Senior Director of Planning within The Pew Charitable Trusts' Strategy portfolio, Comer is responsible for leading a team of planning experts who work with Pew’s senior leadership and staff to enhance the organization’s capacity to develop, launch, and refine program strategies. Prior to joining Pew in April 2018, Comer was a senior executive in the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton for 19 years where her work focused on public policy implementation and major governmental transformation efforts including the standup of the Department of Homeland Security after 9/11, the creation of the Office of Emergency Communications following Hurricane Katrina, and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. She holds an MA in Security Studies with a focus on ethnic conflict and war and anti-terrorism from Georgetown University’s Edmond A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington D.C. and a BA in History with a Minor in Economics from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She is also a 2009 Aspen Institute Ideas Festival Scholar.
