I Was That Boy: Mentorship, Survival, and the Path Away from Homelessness
Description
This session explores how early mentorship for Black boys and boys from inner-city communities can be a powerful, long-term strategy to prevent future homelessness. Through personal stories, proven practices, and community-based models, we’ll examine how positive male role models can guide youth toward purpose, resilience, and stability. Attendees will learn how to create or strengthen mentoring programs that empower young people, disrupt cycles of poverty, and build unity through intentional investment in future generations.
