The Intersection Between Substance Use Disorder and Homelessness: Bridging the Gap Through Data and Programming
Description
This session explores the intersection of homelessness and substance use disorder (SUD) through a data lens using comprehensive surveillance data from Michigan's Opioid Response Strategy. Participants will explore how linked administrative datasets reveal stark disparities in overdose mortality and morbidity among people experiencing homelessness and how MDHHS and MSHDA have partnered and identified housing as a primary support need for Michigan’s SUD population. This session will explore supporting analyses and how state agencies leverage data to adopt housing priorities and form partnerships to help fill this service need for Michiganders.
