For nearly two decades, SOS Community Services has operated a successful master-leased shelter program, providing critical housing support to families experiencing homelessness. In 2024, SOS was awarded the Master Leasing grant to expand by 12 additional units, tripling the size of our program. This session will explore key implementation strategies, operational lessons learned, and the foundational practices that have contributed to the program’s long-term success. As more communities consider or move toward adopting master-leasing as a shelter solution, SOS aims to offer practical guidance and insight to support effective, sustainable program design and expansion based on real-world experience.
