The COVID 19 pandemic has provided a very clear demonstration of how any organisation’s strategy needs to deliberately preserve a balance between certainty and flexibility to adapt to environmental changes.
Drawing from my experience in working in the complex, multi-stakeholder, technology, and geopolitics influenced, defence, national security (and aerospace) markets, I will take a first principles, back-to-basics, look on how strategies are formed in this environment. I will highlight how any organisation operating in such markets is buffeted by macro (or enterprise) level factors beyond their direct control and influence, and by micro (or market) level factors that demand an agile response.
I will highlight some of the considerations in navigating this multi-level competitive battlespace and how strategy models tools and technique can help.
