Emily Petz is the Community Development Coordinator at the W.E Upjohn Institute for Employment Research and serves as the Coordinator for the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council. Emily’s research and work in these roles is primarily concentrated in the fields of economic and community development, regional planning, housing, real estate development, and local government policy.

Emily Petz received a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning with a specialization in Environmental Economics from Michigan State University. She worked at the State of Michigan for over 10 years with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. She is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction and is an Economic Development Finance Professional with the National Development Council.
