Learning environments are never neutral. The spaces we design either remove barriers to learning or reinforce them. Rooted in the belief that every student is created in the Imago Dei, this session explores how intentional, student-centered space design can affirm dignity, build belonging, expand access, and deepen learning and instruction for learners of all abilities. Using real-world case studies of transformed and newly created learning spaces, participants will examine the intersection of pedagogy, instructional reach, and the needs of students, educators, and families. The session highlights how well-designed environments promote safety and dignity, foster connection and community, and offer flexible, adaptable spaces that support diverse learnersultimately amplifying your ability to deliver your mission.
