Supporting new teachers is essential and urgent work in our field. This session opens with real scenarios about recent teacher graduates, illustrating the contrast between those who felt supported and flourished, and those who struggled, sometimes leaving the profession. These authentic voices, alongside insights from an experienced mentor/classroom teacher and the presenter's work as Director of Clinical Placements, will ground our exploration of what current research reveals about beginning-teacher success. Together, we will unpack the strategies that resonate most strongly across research and stakeholders-from novice teachers to mentors to school leaders. Participants will leave with ideas to strengthen induction practices, build supportive school cultures, and create conditions in which new teachers not only remain in the profession, but truly thrive.
