Math 2036: What We Keep, What We Change, and What Comes Next
Description
A decade can completely reshape the world students are preparing to enter. In 2016, educators were still adjusting to relatively new college- and career-ready mathematics standards, wearable technology was just becoming mainstream, and few could have anticipated a global pandemic or the rapid rise of generative AI. Since then, classrooms, technology, instructional resources, and expectations for students have all evolved. That makes this an important moment to ask: How has mathematics education changed over the past ten years, which shifts are worth preserving, and what must we rethink as we prepare students for 2036?
