Daniel Leskovar

Dr. Daniel I. Leskovar is Professor in Vegetable Physiology at Texas A&M University. He obtained his Ag Engineering - Horticulture B.S. from the Universidad del Comahue, Argentina; did post-graduate training at the University of Wageningen; Master of Science at UC Davis; and Ph.D. from the University of Florida. His research has been published in numerous journal papers, book chapters and abstracts. He is the current Chair of the Division ‘Vegetables, Root and Tubers’ of the International Society for Horticultural Science. His research is centered in understanding plant morpho-physiological adaptation mechanisms to abiotic stresses and in developing sustainable vegetable cropping systems. His current focus is on seed-transplant physiology; soil/plant growth regulators and amendments; hydroponics for leafy vegetables; tomato grafting; and screening sweet and hot pepper genotypes for heat and drought stress tolerance, yield and quality.
