This session will introduce and explore one of the tools Glenn Singleton offers in his book, Courageous Conversation about Race. The tool of The Compass allows us to consider how we most naturally enter conversations and how others may initially enter racial conversations. Increasing our understanding of how we and others enter conversations can support us in engaging in honest and real conversations about race with students, parents, colleagues and other community members.
