Description

Student engagement in Catholic schools is becoming an increasing concern with more than half of students reporting they are disengaged most of the time. Educators report higher levels of disengagement following the pandemic. More students are unmotivated, uninterested, and/or non-compliant with classroom instruction, leaving teachers with an increasing dilemma. However, student engagement is a complex variable with a profound effect on student success and the classroom environment. This interactive session provides an overview of the contributing factors of student engagementboth student and teacher directed. It explores engagement from multiple perspectives and outlines practical, evidence-based strategies to increase engagement-related behaviors. Engage the disengagement dilemma!
