Critical Listening to Expand Musicianship
Saturday, January 29, 2022
8:00 AM - 8:45 AM
Description
In this session, we will be taking a look at how to utilize different critical listening strategies, questions, and assessments that encourage students to look at and think about music in a variety of ways. Using critical listening assignments in the classroom allows us to expose our students to music of all kinds, draw connections, and gives us a way to include discussion and debate in the music classroom. Attendees will brainstorm questions and potential pieces that could be used in critical listening assignments that they use with their students in the future.
