Description
Have you considered teaching music in a rural area? Drawing on personal experience and research, Mayo will lead a participatory discussion considering both positives and challenges in teaching rural music education and invite attendees to challenge assumptions about rural locales.
Learning Objective 1
Attendees with engage with considerations for teaching music in a rural locale, including positive aspects and challenges.
Learning Objective 2
Attendees with be asked to consider their future teaching placements and educational background, career goals and priorities, and to challenge assumptions about rural spaces.
