eff Barbee is currently a research specialist in College of Medicine at The Ohio State University. Before coming to Ohio State, he served as an assessment and evaluation specialist in the Indiana University School of Medicine. While with IU, he simultaneously held an associate faculty role with the IUPUI Department of Music and Arts Technology where he enjoyed teaching a small studio of students and music theory courses. He also instructed first-year seminar courses to successfully help transition college freshmen to collegiate life. Jeff’s research has been presented across the country and abroad in venues pertaining to student affairs, educational assessment, arts and culture, and music performance and education. He holds multiple degrees from the University of Missouri--Kansas City (Music Performance, Higher Education Administration), Ohio University (Music Performance, Brass Pedagogy), and the University of Kentucky (Music Education, Music Performance). He also holds two graduate certificates from Indiana University (Philanthropic Studies) and UMKC (Preparing Future Faculty). In his free time, Jeff is an active clinician and educator who enjoys studying the impact of arts-based curriculum on educational outcomes.
