Tamara (Grove) Williams received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Master’s
degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University. Since 2006, she has served as
Director of Choirs at Central High School in Traverse City, Michigan. Previously she served as
Director of Choirs at Christa McAuliffe Middle School and John Glenn High School in Bay
City; Interim Choir Director at Carman-Ainsworth schools in Flint; Church Choir Director at the
Presbyterian Church of Okemos; and interned at Williamston High School in Williamston,
Michigan.
Tamara is a long-standing member of MSVMA and served as District Manager for Northern
Michigan 2009-2019. Mrs. Williams was a presenter at the MSVMA Early Careers Conference
in 2009, the MSVMA Summer Workshop in 2014, and conducted the SATB Michigan regional
and state Honors Choir in 2016-2017 at the Michigan Music Conference.
She is thankful for her husband, Lloyd and their sweet daughter, Kennedy Klein Williams who
was welcomed into this world in March 2020 – what a blessing she is! Mrs. Williams is also
thankful for the insightful, smart, talented, passionate human beings she has the privilege of
working with every day; her students.
