Ellen has worked in transportation and policy in Durham for over twenty years. In her current position as the Transportation Director for Durham County, she provides oversight and policy direction for the Durham Transit Plan and the $40 million annual county-wide taxes and fees that support the plan. She also manages and coordinates transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and highway projects in the County. Ellen formerly worked at the City of Durham as Transportation Planning Manager where she supervised the planning and design of multimodal transportation projects and at the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization as a Transportation Planner.
