Andrew Wilson is the current Chief Safety Officer and Executive Director of Safety and Security at TriMet. Since taking the role as Chief Safety Officer at TriMet in January 2022, Andrew has dramatically reshaped TriMet’s security program, fully implementing the results of our Reimagine Public Safety & Security on Transit initiative, performed with our community, and advancing TriMet’s safety and security efforts with new investments, innovations and strategic approaches. During his tenure as Chief Safety Officer, TriMet has experienced marked reductions in police activity and assaults on TriMet’s system. His leadership was critical in TriMet winning back-to-back APTA Rail Security Gold Awards and the APTA Rail Safety Gold Award.
