Janneke is a transportation planning professional committed to reducing climate change and improving the quality of life of disadvantaged communities by designing the built environment to encourage active transportation. Her background is in bicycle advocacy, and she led Bike Santa Cruz County through contentious issues including advocating for the Santa Cruz County Rail and Trail. She has been with the Transportation Agency for Monterey County for three years and her key accomplishments include leading the first Participatory Budgeting process in Monterey County reaching more than 1,800 residents,  securing a grant to fund the design and construction of a segment of the Fort Ord Regional Trail and Greenway, and overseeing the Agency’s competitive grant program and fund distribution to local agencies.
