Luigi Barraza is an urban planner and mobility specialist with over seven years of experience in the nonprofit and private sectors, focusing on equity-driven urban development. Luigi holds an MSc in Sustainable Urbanism from University College London, and is a licensed architect from Tec de Monterrey. His career bridges academic research and real-world implementation, ensuring that policy and planning strategies are not just theoretical exercises but lead to meaningful, community-driven change. 
With hands-on experience delivering development, community, and territorial plans in Latin America through his work at Arcadis México, Luigi has led participatory planning projects in Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Brazil.
As both an urbanist and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he knows that who takes the stage matters. Representation in urban planning isn’t just about policies—it’s about who gets to speak, whose perspectives shape the narrative, and whose lived experiences define what an equitable city looks like. The PechaKucha format is about impactful, high-energy storytelling, and he would bring a bold, unapologetic presence that challenges exclusionary structures head-on.
