Ana-Francisca is an architect and Principal at Arcadis as well as a Practice Group Manager in their Transit Architecture Studio based in Toronto. With over 20 years of experience on a variety of commercial and institutional projects, her career has focused on large-scale transit stations and facilities in Canada, Mexico and internationally. Her expertise and leadership have impacted a wide range of institutional and large infrastructure projects, including transit-oriented development. Her former parallel career in the performing arts has enhanced creative insight into her design practice, emphasizing a priority on the user experience and placemaking. She has led large, interdisciplinary design teams through complex architectural programs, negotiating extensive public consultations to achieve internationally recognized design with inclusive and innovative architecture.
As a subject matter expert in transit and interdisciplinary collaborations, Ana-Francisca is often invited to lead workshops and speak at conferences in Canada and abroad. She is the current Chair of the Toronto Society of Architects, is a selected member of Urban Land Institute's Women Leadership Initiative Championship Team, an elected Fellow of Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and an elected member of the National Academy of Architects in Mexico City.”
