Tanya Brooks is a Transportation Official with over 25 years of experience in Transportation Planning and Operations, and Community Engagement. She is currently the Assistant Vice President of Capital Planning for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit agency and is responsible for directing and managing the development of short and long-range capital plans for transit projects, as well as managing or supporting programs related to sustainability programs and integration of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) initiatives.
Tanya previously worked as an Assistant Director in Transportation Planning and Operations for the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth overseeing key initiatives that focused on pedestrian safety including Complete Streets and Vision Zero. She is an accomplished leader in forming multidisciplinary teams specializing in Complete Streets and multimodal transportation focusing on safety and livability, streets that facilitate walking, bicycling and transit.
Mrs. Brooks holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Northern Iowa and received her Bachelor of Science in Transportation from Southern University at New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Brooks currently serves on the regional Surface Transportation Technical Committee, sits on the Greater Dallas Planning Council Board and serves on the City of DeSoto Planning and Zoning Commission.
