Sarah Rudolf grew up with one foot in two worlds, the daughter of a Chinese immigrant mother and a white, Anglo-Saxon Protestant father. Similarly, her work has always been situated at the intersection of two worlds: community and institution, where policy and reality collide. Sarah is the associate director at Rail~Volution, where she leads the place-based capacity building program and other strategic initiatives. She also is the transportation co-chair of the Metropolitan Council’s Equity Advisory Committee. Sarah holds a master’s in public policy and certificate in nonprofit management from the Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Cultural Studies from the University of MN. As a retired roller derby player, her favorite way to travel is on 8 wheels.

We just moved last summer so any time I'm not working or doing something with my family I'm probably redecorating or in the yard. As a family, we started monthly camping weekends during COVID and that's been a fun getaway and reset for us all.
