Charis Loong is a Senior Planner with TransLink's Transit-Oriented Communities Planning team. In her role, Charis draws on her valuable multi-faceted experience as a development planner at the City of Delta and a planning consultant at Aplin Martin to collaborate with local government and other partner agencies in advancing aligned transportation and land use planning across the region.

Charis manages the implementation and monitoring of the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Supportive Policies Agreement: a leading edge practice to bring multiple levels of government together to fulfill indirect shared aims of major transportation and land use developments. She also supports the Regional Transportation Advisory Committee- the primary forum for Metro Vancouver municipalities and other agencies to discuss and provide input on strategic multi-modal transportation-related matters of regional significance.

Charis holds a Master of Urban Planning from McGill University where her research areas included public transit planning and operations, travel behaviour, and transit system performance measures.
