Rashonda Alexander (she/her) serves as Director of Compliance for the Community
Development Administration. Rashonda began her career in higher education at Harris Stowe
State College, where she led the Student Affairs division transition from commuter based to
residential focused student activities, drafting the first iteration of the residence hall handbook
and policy. She also served as adjunct faculty in the HSSU Business School. She first joined
the City working as a Policy Writer with SLATE and transitioned to CDA charged with managing
the CHOICE Neighborhood Initiative and the Environmental Review process. She authored the
written strategy/internal policy required by HUD for electronic submission of environmental
reviews into the HUD Environmental Review Online System (HEROS) and drafted the
administration's tuition reimbursement policy, advocating for benefits to support internal
professional development and pay equity. Rashonda is a graduate of Saint Louis University,
Fontbonne University, and Paul Mitchell The School in St. Louis. She is a licensed notary,
realtor, cosmetologist, instructor, MWBE, and SBIR recipient of the Department of Energy's
EERE- Bioenergy sector award. She is driven to exploit her varying gifts for the advancement
and beautification of her community and the environment. Rashonda is a proud native of St.
Louis, educated as a youth on Northside by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis, and
currently lives/invests in the city. Passions include her two children/family, music ministry, hair
dressing, travel, thrifting, and 70s and 80s GAME SHOWS (all game shows, really).
