Description

Fair Housing cases in Michigan are on the rise. The current housing market and the pandemic have further exacerbated existing housing access and equity issues, making awareness of fair housing rights and compliance with fair housing law more critical than ever. This session will highlight signs of housing discrimination and barriers trending in fair housing that impact people experiencing homelessness. Topics include criminal background and other screening, domestic violence, assistance animals, gender protections, source of income protections, and the rights of persons with disabilities including mental health and those with a history of substance abuse.
