At age nineteen, expecting her second child, she enrolled in LAUSD’s Youth Opportunities Unlimited
Alternative High Diploma & Options Program
(designed for drop-out recovery youth). In 1999 Amiyoko Shabazz graduated with honors, awards, and was Mistress of Ceremonies at graduation. Her exposure to numerous programs and opportunities while completing her diploma became her launching pad for many measurable outcomes to name a few (youth entrepreneurial program, youth speaker, leadership programs, special projects, television appearances, awards, community engagements, and more). By the
time she had her third child, Amiyoko received a scholarship to attend Brooks College at the
Long Beach Campus and went on to graduate and receive her AS Degree in Retail Sales,
Marketing, and Fashion Merchandising. What was most notable, all the while attending college
she was homeless. Her graduation was epic, having her three babies in the audience watching
her receive her degree gave her even greater determination.


Amiyoko Shabazz, Lived Experience with numerous periods of homelessness, shelter services,
mental, recovery, and physical wellness programs to name a few, continues to drive her to give
back and work in her purpose. Her continued education, collaboration, specialty training with certifications and/or completions makes her qualified to train, lead, motivate, inspire and transform other Lived Experience Experts, Peer Specialists, Train-The-Trainers, Providers and private Clients. She enjoys sharing her radiant light to help others with self growth, self awareness, and self evolution, community empowerment and community development.


Expert, is focused on systems level virtuous soul solutions co-designed by people with lived experiences impacted by inequities in housing, financial inequities. Amiyoko believes that people with lived experience serving as advocates are part of the grand solutions to the homeless program. As an aspiring Transformational Global Impact Leader, she inspires and transforms her peers and communities to which she is connected.

In the Bridge Program, Antioch University 2014-2015 she realized her story can help others. Joining CSH Speak Up she began public speaking, advocating for change. She received a Peer Heal Certification, and WRAP Certification in 2017; 2016 she received her Certification for Codetalk Web Design & graduation speaker; now brings her lived experience into consulting work. Amiyoko researched her true nationality which is motivating, inspiring, and Homeless for Health Consulting work. Amiyoko Facilitates all women's support groups where she motivates and inspires women in advance spiritual activities and creative arts. Amiyoko loves to travel, expanding her horizon by visiting many communities and bringing her creative purpose
