Name
Building Resiliency in Ourselves and in Our Clients
Description

Resiliency is often described as an individual ability to “bounce back,” but for people experiencing homelessness—and the professionals supporting them—resiliency is shaped by safety, stability, resources, relationships, choice, and systems. This interactive session will explore resiliency through a trauma-informed, Housing First lens and examine how providers can recognize strengths that may not appear as traditional “success.” Participants will identify practical strategies to strengthen their own capacity, recognize factors that contribute to client depletion, and use resiliency-informed approaches to support engagement, choice, and housing stability. Through reflection and skill practice, participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply.
