Land is one of our greatest, and most finite, assets. Yet, currently, hundreds of thousands of lots are unmaintained and underutilized and actively detracting from quality of life and community well-being in communities across the country. These lots present a remarkable opportunity to address some of our most pressing challenges – healthy food access, stormwater management, aging infrastructure, ecosystem restoration, safe neighborhoods, community wealth. This session will cover the groundwork communities need to do to start intentionally, comprehensively stewarding their vacant lot inventories to achieve their communities’ vision, goals, and priorities.
