Daniel Huyck
Daniel Huyck is a Management and Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Field Policy and Management (HUD-FPM) working out of the Detroit Field Office. He is currently assigned as HUD's Region 5 Section 3 Point of Contact and is involved in several national initiatives to increase employment opportunity for low- and very low-income individuals. Prior to his time at HUD-FPM, Daniel worked with the Office of Community Planning and Development (HUD-CPD) as a Community Planning and Development Representative and the Office of Public Housing (HUD-PH) as a Portfolio Management Specialist, having been with HUD since March 2011. Prior to HUD, Daniel served nearly 21 years combined U.S. Army, with that time being split between active duty (9 years) and the National Guard (12 years). Daniel completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Minnesota, his Masters of Public Administration through the University of Oklahoma, and his undergraduate degree in Business Education at Northern Michigan University. His professional interest areas are focused on working with local communities to maximize the effectiveness and impact of HUD grants within their communities – specifically: reducing homelessness, increasing self-sufficiency, disaster response and recovery, and environmental health.
