Mercedes Brown
Mercedes’s experience in the non-profit and government sectors of health and human services over the last 15 years has developed her skills and perspective that a cross-sector, public-private collaborative approach is essential to establishing equitable systems that ensure housing stability for all. Ms. Brown, as the Director of the Michigan office, is responsible for establishing CSH’s strategic priorities for the State of Michigan and providing leadership for the Michigan-based team. In this role, she develops and implements statewide, multi-sector strategies to maximize impact in high-need communities.
Prior to joining CSH, Ms. Brown served as the Human Services Manager with the Washtenaw County Office of Community & Economic Development (OCED) where she managed an 8-member team and was responsible for overseeing the Washtenaw County Human Services program and funding portfolio (including HUD, MSHDA, HHS, CNCS and Senior Nutrition programs). Immediately prior to that, Ms. Brown served as the Associate Director at the Corner Health Center overseeing the organization’s operations with a specific focus on The Corner’s primary and behavioral health care programs. Ms. Brown holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Juris Doctor.
