Currently serving as the Director of Kent County Community Action and the Kent County Housing Commission, Gustavo has the unique opportunity to braid programs and services using private, state, federal, and local funding across four areas: Housing, Community Development, Emergency Relief, and Senior Services. Gustavo has spent the last 10 years advocating for, planning & designing, and building systems around access to affordable housing, homeless response, and eviction prevention. Previously, Gustavo served as the Director of Programs & Services for Heart of West Michigan United Way, where he managed a multi-partnered 51-million-dollar rental assistance program. Gustavo began a career in human services at The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend in Texas, developing and implementing various programs that served 9 counties.

Gustavo received his MBA with an emphasis in Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and holds a BBA from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
