Christopher Germain has served as CEO of the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) since May 2022, stepping into the role after six years at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a Senior Community Planner with the Redevelopment Ready Communities program. A Michigan native, Christopher attended Northern Michigan University (NMU) where he fell in love with Marquette and the upper peninsula and became a fierce advocate for the region’s potential. He brings diverse experiences to the LSCP including time as an environmental regulator, urban planner, technical specialist, non-profit leader, political communications professional, and legislative staffer. He holds a bachelors in Public Administration (NMU) and a master’s degree from City and Regional Planning (The Ohio State University) as well a professional accreditations for planning (AICP). Under Christopher’s leadership, the LSCP has adopted an ambitious comprehensive economic development model that has included new programming around housing, childcare, air service, small business support, and more. Outside of work, Christopher takes full advantage of Marquette’s incredible natural beauty including hiking, swimming in Lake Superior, biking, outside beer patios and more. He is also learning to fly (because, why not?) and is an avid cook and baker. He and his husband Aaron also care for an adopted, rambunctious cattle dog (Woody) who keeps them on their toes. Christopher will be stepping away as CEO in 2026 to focus on family, returning downstate but is expected to remain active in the economic development field.
