Speaker Bio
Christopher Germain has served as CEO of the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) since May 2022, stepping into the role after six years at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a Senior Community Planner with the Redevelopment Ready Communities program. A Michigan native, Christopher attended Northern Michigan University (NMU) where he fell in love with Marquette and the upper peninsula and became a fierce advocate for the region’s potential. He brings diverse experiences to the LSCP including time as an environmental regulator, urban planner, technical specialist, non-profit leader, political communications professional, and legislative staffer. He holds a bachelor's in public administration (NMU) and a master’s degree from City and Regional Planning (The Ohio State University) as well as professional accreditations for planning (AICP) and economic development (EDFP). Outside of work, Christopher takes full advantage of Marquette’s incredible natural beauty including hiking, swimming in Lake Superior, biking, outside beer patios and more. He is also teaching himself to code video games (because, why not) and is an avid cook and baker. He and his husband Aaron also care for an adopted, rambunctious cattle dog (Woody) who keeps them on their toes and makes every day an exciting one; coincidentally, Woody also serves as the Chief Morale Officer for the LSCP team.
