Jazmyn Thomas is the Deputy Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Port Huron. In addition to her current role overseeing the advancement of community development strategies and the disbursements of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funding, Jazmyn also assist with economic development, inspection and planning. Previously, Ms. Thomas served five years working for Macomb County as a Grant Management Specialist and was responsible for administering U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds, including Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HOME funding and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) throughout 21 communities in the County. Jazmyn began her career working for the City of Port Huron as an intern in 2012 in Community Development.

Jazmyn received her bachelor’s degree in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State
University in 2014 and graduated with honors with her master’s degree in Public Administration
from Oakland University in 2017.

Jazmyn is passionate about being involved in her community and is currently a member of various community boards and committees. In her spare time Jazmyn enjoys traveling.
