LaKiya serves as Executive Director at LINC UP Nonprofit Housing Corporation in Grand Rapids, MI where she leads LINC in revitalizing neighborhoods through increasing community power, expanding affordable housing opportunities, and increasing wealth building opportunities. During her 14 year tenure she has over seen the successful implementation over 800 community events that were attended by over 30,000 residents. LaKiya has successfully trained and increased the capacity of over 1000 residents. She has also overseen grassroots efforts to secure affordable housing for over 1000 residents and families. Her lived experience and relationships in Grand Rapids’ South East and Southwest neighborhoods uniquely position her for success in this work.

In addition to her role at LINC UP, LaKiya has served as Board Chair for the Southtown Corridor Improvement District, Administrator and Leadership Team member for the Greater Grand Rapids Racial Equity Network, National Equity Project REAL Center Fellow, Leadership Grand Rapids Alumni and Central High School ABLE Advisory Council Member and Participatory Budget GR Co-Chair.
