Having been a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager for over 27 years, it made sense to take the next step when there was a need for a new HUD Certified Housing counselor in 2020 with Northern Homes CDC. Having endured the Great Recession which required working with many lenders and homeowners as the foreclosure world was at its prime. It was a calling to use all those years of experience to help educate and counsel those considering homeownership, those having financial struggles to stay in their home, and those that may need a starting point to understand their household finances and importance of credit whether they were looking to purchase or rent.
Having been a single parent for 12 years raising three children, the understanding of financial struggles and the need to stay on budget was something experienced.
As a County Commissioner for the past 10 years, and Board Chairperson for the past 3, I am very involved in the community, sitting on many committees. Tending to gravitate towards committees of community services, housing needs, and forward-thinking changes, there is always an opportunity to learn and grow.
