Prior to her role as MSHDA Redevelopment Specialist in the Brownfield Section of RRD, Martha was a Senior Environmental Quality Analyst in the Jackson District Office for two years, covering Jackson County sites of contamination and other complex projects as assigned. Martha is actively involved in outreach with the regulated community to ensure that affordable housing projects sited on Brownfield properties in Michigan are safely reused, and enjoys connecting with colleagues through participation in continuing education and mentoring. Prior to her time with EGLE, Martha spent 26 years as an environmental consultant, performing and managing environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation projects primarily in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. She earned her B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1995, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin and holds Storm Water Management Construction Site and Industrial Site Operators’ certifications in Michigan. She is a MSPE Fellow, a NSPE Fellow, and was honored as the 2023 MSPE Engineer of the Year.
