April Hehir has 20 years of environmental experience with industry leading consulting firms before joining the State of Michigan, Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy as Brownfield Housing Coordinator in early 2024. Her prior experience focused mainly on Due Diligence, Brownfield Redevelopment, Remediation, Vapor Intrusion Assessment with Vapor Intrusion Mitigation. Her role as Brownfield Housing Coordinator is to provide compliance assistance to development teams transforming Michigan Brownfield Site’s to safe Affordable Housing. Her primary responsibility is to conduct outreach and education for communities, stakeholders and consultants. While diligently working with the developers to achieve due care through compliance assistance and expedited statutory document reviews.
April received her B.S. in Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University. She has prior board experience with Brownfield Redevelopment Authorities in Northern Michigan, City Planning and Zoning, Board of Review and as a Township Clerk.
