Eureka People is President of Housing Kent and leads its efforts to increase affordable housing, dissolve homelessness, and eliminate the racial disparities within the Kent County housing system. Prior to accepting this position, Eureka spent 10 years as Principal Consultant of her own strategy consultancy specializing in systems change for nonprofits, foundations, and government. In this capacity, she partnered with over 200 organizations, advancing community-building initiatives that positively impacted thousands of individuals and families.
Prior to her consultancy career, Eureka held key roles, including VP of Finance and Operations at the National Community Development Institute in Oakland, California. Additionally, she served as an Associate Pastor of Assimilation and Discipleship at Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Before being drawn into humanitarian and nonprofit work, Eureka worked as a Senior Personnel Representative and Project Engineer for Eli Lilly & Company in Indiana. Her diverse background and expertise underscore her commitment to effecting meaningful and equitable change.
Eureka holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Theology in Historical Theology with honors. She currently serves on the Kent County Revolving Loan Fund Committee, Kent County Vision 2050 Steering Committee, and the Leadership Council for the Grand Rapids Justice and Governance Partnership.
