Communication is key to removing poverty barriers to housing. However, in Dr. Beegle’s research, she learned that 92 percent of people in poverty leave housing and other helping professionals not knowing what to do next. The majority of study participants did not even know where to go to get housing assistance. In this interactive workshop, Dr. Beegle will engage participants in exploring how we can increase equity by improving communication and access. She also shares tools to communicate more effectively across poverty and race barriers along with a simple method for inclusivity in our communities.
