Name
Idea to Reality: Workshop with Majora Carter
Date & Time
Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Description

Majora is a MacArthur ‘genius’ Fellow, Peabody Award winning broadcaster, and sought after speaker around the world.  From humble beginnings in the South Bronx during the era of massive disinvestment, arson, and abandonment, she has risen a leader in urban revitalization strategy through project based development and policy leadership.

The path to success was not smooth.  The lessons she shares are meant to break people through the bottlenecks one experiences at all levels, on ideas big or small - where the champion of that idea is not in a position to unilaterally make it happen.

Many of the people initially attracted to Majora’s message are (or want to be) involved in some sort of change around them.

Idea to Reality Workshops dismiss sanctimony, self-perceived ‘brilliance’, and the notion of ‘should’.  Majora demonstrates through her work and that of others, what happens when you respect where you are in relation to the audience needed, and what can happen when you don’t.

Beginning with a basic timeline of ‘product launch’ (below) -- whether your interests are in policy within government or a company, bringing a product or service to market, or promoting your own leadership within an organization -- this workshop helps you place yourself on a proven timeline of the steps you need to accomplish in order to bring any idea to reality...

•        Identify a Market Need.
•        Design an attractive solution(s).
•        Discover and obtain “angel” investment.
•        Launch Beta Version.
•        Learn from Beta Experience and Refine as immediately as needed.
•        Reiterate and Expand
We hope you will join Majora Carter and bring your project, at whatever stage, into an open discussion forum with other people who are more interested in getting something done, than being ‘right’.
