Anna Shires is the Detroit-based Community Investment Outreach Partner at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. In this role, she works closely with affordable housing developers, member financial institutions, and critical community partners to increase investment in Detroit and across the state of Michigan to build affordable housing, support small businesses, and help residents buy and repair their homes. Prior to joining the Bank in April 2020, Shires was the Manager of Housing Development for the City of Detroit, where she led a team charged with investing the City’s federal and local affordable housing dollars into affordable housing projects. At her time with the City, she oversaw 800 affordable housing units in the underwriting and construction phases and personally led closing efforts on $16MM in federal gap financing dollars. Shires holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Michigan State University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan.
