Thorough knowledge of the score is the basis for the conductor’s music-making and teaching. Without a specific aural image and clear interpretative vision, it is difficult to incorporate intentional physical gestures and devise meaningful rehearsals. This session will reiterate the importance of score study, outline specific strategies for internalizing the score, and offer practical suggestions for overcoming related challenges.
