Music composition is the perfect way to differentiate to the needs of students, as well as a way to supplement the curriculum with new concepts to explore. This session will discuss strategies for getting students to compose their own music and how it can inform their ideas about music and music making. Based on my experiences teaching multiple grade levels, specific ideas for composition projects that are applicable to any grade level will also be shared.
