Date & Time
Friday, January 25, 2019, 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM

Description
A relaxed bow hold can sometimes be a frustration for students and teachers. Yet, a relaxed bow hold is necessary for many bow stokes and techniques such as legato, controlled spiccato, sautillé, string crossings, and staccato - virtually everything! This presentation will explore exercises and methods designed to release tension in the bow hand that are suitable for beginners and even more advanced students. This presentation, while geared for cellists, also applies to violin, viola, and bass.
