Amy Lewis is a Ph.D. Music Education student at Michigan State University where she is a graduate teaching assistant and supervises student teachers. Previously she taught K-8 general music, beginning band, middle school choir, and jazz band in Des Plaines, IL and was the 2015 Illinois Education Association Teacher of the Year recipient. She is an active clinician and guest lecturer on topics pertaining to her work. Her research interests include activism within music education, Critical Race Theory within music education, and inclusive learning and teaching environments.
