Ann Marie Theis is the director of of choral activities at Seaholm High School and Derby Middle School in Birmingham, Michigan. Prior to that she was a middle and high school choir teacher in Grand Rapids Public Schools. Her choirs have performed around Grand Rapids, the Tulip Festival, and at MSVMA festivals. In honor of her work, she received a teaching award from the Grammy Foundation. She was also selected by the Rockefeller Foundation and Gilder Lehrman Institute to be a EduHam Teacher, where she was lead students in writing their own songs based on American History. Her students work was featured during a Hamilton performance in Chicago. Prior to teaching in GRPS, Theis was Associate Instructor of voice at Indiana University. She has degrees from Michigan State in music education and vocal performance. As a soloist she has performed internationally and major venues in the US.
