World Music Drumming:  Bringing the World Closer to Home

This hands-on day of learning will introduce teachers to the World Music Drumming curriculum by Dr. Will Schmid.  Through drumming, singing, movement and discussion, teachers will learn musical technique and pedagogical strategies to weave elements of this curriculum into their existing general music experience for students. The inclusion of World Music Drumming will allow students to experience and foster appreciation for music from other cultures, build musicianship, and focus on social emotional development through active music-making.
