Starting a Tri-M Music Honor Society to Enhance Your Program
Friday, January 24, 2025
8:00 AM - 8:45 AM
Description
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a National Honor Society through NAfME that nurtures growth and excellence within your existing music programs. Come learn about the benefits to your students and how to start a chapter in your school district. South Haven Public Schools have both a Jr. and Sr. Chapter that have achieved national recognition since their inception in 2017. This session will show you how to get started, give examples of chapter activities, and point to the benefits for your students and program.
A Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society encourages students to become leaders within the program. Students strive to serve, lead, and excel in musicianship. Activities in Tri-M put students in charge and get them thinking about their connections with their music programs, schools, and communities. Some of the best projects are those that are ideas that come from the student leaders!
